Pashmina is the rarest, finest grade of cashmere — the soft undercoat of the Changthangi goat, native to the Ladakh Himalayas at over 4,000 meters, where winters fall to −40°C. That cold is what makes the fiber this fine. A single goat yields only enough for a fraction of one shawl each year, hand-combed once during the spring molt, then hand-spun and hand-woven by artisans in Kashmir — nothing synthetic, nothing mass-made.

Hand-woven from genuine pashmina cashmere sourced from the high-altitude Kashmir Valley, India, this shawl is made using a generations-old craft that has defined the region's textile identity for centuries. Pashmina cashmere is among the rarest and finest natural fibers in the world, combed from the underbelly of Himalayan Capra hircus goats at elevations above 14,000 feet, yielding a fiber of exceptional fineness — typically 12 to 16 microns — that produces a close plain weave with a distinctly light hand and a soft natural sheen. Construction follows strict handloom tradition: the fabric is woven on a pit loom, and the two short width edges are finished with fine hand-knotted fringe, while the two long selvedge edges remain plain and unfringed. The generous dimensions allow it to be worn as a close neck wrap for warmth, draped loosely over the shoulders as a shawl, or drawn fully around the body as a wrap. This piece is presented in a clean, solid ivory — a tone that highlights the natural luminosity of the fiber itself.
